What hidden meaning could there be? It's just two guys workin' on a puzzle, and one Californian surfer wannabe clearly doesn't understand that a lowercase "t" is not a puzzle piece. What does religion have to do with it?
It's refreshing to see a few intelligent people such as yourself actually enjoying the movie without having to inject their own ideas into it and then thank/lambast me for supposedly tailoring the story to that concern of theirs. Did Halloween turn Newgrounds into a "religious discussion" community or something? I don't even know...
Thanks, Brer.
Yeah, for those of you who haven't been following the comic, none of this will make any sense at all. But visually, still super cool.
I just wanted to say that this animation is proof of your amazing storytelling skills, and your ability to put it all into incredible cinematics. The only criticism I'd say is that even though I've been following homestuck since day 1, your huge animations like this one sometimes weave together so many things that have happened so far, and so quickly, that I don't necessarily recall the details of those events and am left somewhat confused about the storyline. I get the gist of it, enough to continue following the comic, but it still leaves me somewhat confused. I think maybe sometimes your story is TOO complex for your own good. Nevertheless, I am always impressed with all those ideas you come up with.
I've been following your site since the days of Problem Sleuth, which inspired me to totally copy you and make my own version of the MSPA comics. Thanks for the good ideas to steal! Ha ha! Still, my brain can't keep up with your amazing storytelling.
Nice video! Good effects, timing, animation, everything.
All I could think through the whole vid though was man, that girl is way too needy. You'd think after date 1 she'd have left him. It's funny how frustrating it was to watch her continue trying. It's just a music video! Well done!
You got some good stuff going there, but I thought I'd give you a little suggestion.
I noticed that the proportions of your characters seemed to change a lot. Not just a little, but a whole lot. And I'm not talking about when you switch to chibi mode.
at the beginning, the guy and the girl have relatively properly proportioned bodies, but then when you switch to that view from the side when they're talking to one another, their heads are a bit too big for their bodies--particularly the girl... her head becomes massive.
So I'd recommend a very quick and easy exercise when you're drawing these characters. Start your drawing with a background layer of stickmen. Just something simple where you can check first that the proportions are relatively correct, before you go ahead and draw out the whole thing.
It will even help making the drawing process a lot easier, and when you're done, you can just delete the stickman layer and it's out of your way.
It's just that having bodies constantly change proportions drastically can really detract from the experience of watching it. And if you can get good at that, then already you should find your cartoons looking more and more like a real anime!
you can use the stickmen for stuff like your raven too. It's really easy to draw a stickbird flying, and when you watch the animation of the stickbird, you'll know really quickly whether you're happy with how it looks or not, and be able to make easy changes. Then you just fill it out and draw over it, and you'll be amazed with the results!
Anyway, that's my recommendation. But all in all, it was pretty good!
I love how you made it all serious and dramatic, and yet you packed in a bunch of little silent gems of hilarity.
I especially liked how the uberrobot had no problem with pico's power level being just barely under 9000, but as soon as it was "over nine thouuusaaaaaaaaaaaaaand", he lost it!
I'm so impressed with the songs you keep coming up with!
You've definitely grown a lot in animation abilities and just the way you put together the whole thing. I enjoyed it, though it wasn't quite as funny as the first two, which made me cry from laughing.
In the second round a popup was happening every 5 seconds.
In case I did something different than expected that may have set the popups off, you may want to try this to recreate the bug:
- at the end of the first round, I was clicking like crazy to kill the zombies and when I got them all, I was still clicking when the round completion screen opened, and then a popup opened.
- when I purchased my items and started the next round, part way through the round was when a different set of popups started opening on their own like mad
anyway, good game, just thought I should give you a heads up!

I think I watched one of those easter eggs a million times.
"Billy?"
"Come on in boys!"
Definitely the best part of this whole animation.

Of course there was no hidden meaning...
What hidden meaning could there be? It's just two guys workin' on a puzzle, and one Californian surfer wannabe clearly doesn't understand that a lowercase "t" is not a puzzle piece. What does religion have to do with it?
p.s. - well animated.

I like how the fat guy didn't float away.

It played for half an hour without me.
After I got the rocket upgrades to max, I just made him go as fast as possible in one direction, and walked away from the computer.
I came back with a ridiculous score + cash, and the timer said I stayed in the air for a little over a half hour.
Wow.
Fun game though... when I was actually playing

One word to describe that girl: Needy

Don't think you actually fixed the popup bug
